Toronto Harbourfront Photo Walk Tour by Tdot Shots

Register for this event.

Welcome to the second photo walk of the fall season for 2023. We have a great lineup with about 12 events planned. Some photo walks are free and others have a small fee. Events with a charge are run like walking tours or workshops.

If you are interested in developing your photo skills and want to meet new people all these events are worth your while. You don’t have to have a pro camera – many people use a smartphone. All of us are enthusiasts and many will provide tips and encouragement. 🙂

About this Photo Walk Meetup

This Harbourfront and waterfront Toronto neighbourhood meetup will be a chance to snap some early fall photos in one of the most beautiful settings in the city. Lake Ontario shoreline is lined with parks and tall buildings, and plenty of interesting subjects like tall ships, seagulls, shops and various buildings including high-rises and the Powerplant and Harbourfront Centre complexes.

We estimate leaf change is only around 10% but cool evenings can accelerate that. Typically we find some maples are almost in full peak fall colour while other species such as oak take their time. Not to worry though, the few golden red trees that have started turning colour will add some great ambiance to your shots, particularly as we meet up at sunset which offers additional golden tones.

We meet one hour before sunset. So our start time is 6 pm. This offers plenty of time for a medium paced stroll, some chatting, and enough time to get your shots before the sun goes down!

Some highlights of the walk (weather permitting and depending on route):

  • Queen’s Quay West area
  • Ferry Docks terminal
  • Harbour Square Park
  • the Music Garden
  • HTO Park

It’s a lot but we find we can do it within 90 minutes (golden hour to blue hour). Wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella. We walk rain or shine. Only in the event of extreme weather would we cancel. Do not arrive late as sunset is at 7 pm and the light will disappear quickly.
